Band Camp 2010 Schedule

Band camp is the beginning of the marching band season. For all of the following dates and times, members will report to the band room. The emphasis of band camp is to practice marching fundamentals, playing fundamentals, and to learn the show music and drill for the upcoming marching season.

Band camp is mandatory for all marching band students.

Students that do not attend camp will be removed from the marching band.

               What to bring to camp

                  *Instrument

                  *Music

                  *Proper clothing-We will be spending a great deal of time outside.

                       -Tennis shoes are mandatory for marching band (no sandals or crocs!!)

                       -Everyone must wear shirts at all times. Sports bras or bikini tops are not allowed!

                       -Shorts are highly recommended.

                   *Sunscreen

                   *Water bottle or sports drinks.

                   *A 1-inch three-ring binder with 20 clear plastic sheets holders.

                   *Lunch-due to liability concerns, no student may leave campus during the lunch hour.

                        -Students may bring their own lunch.

                        -Lunch will be sold at the Band Booster concession stand located between the auditorium and north gym.

 

                 Parent/Student Informational Meeting

                 July 29, 2010

 

                  *This is a required meeting for all students and their parents in the marching band.

 

                  *The purpose of the meeting is to:

 

                       1. Address the goals of the marching band.

 

                       2. Introduce the parents to the Band Boosters and encourage a spirit of volunteerism to support the students' music education.

 

                       3. Layout details concerning chaperoning, Fair Share, fundraising, marching band uniforms, schedules, spring trip, ect.

 

                       4. Purchase new marching shoes for new a returning students who need a new size.

 

                       5. Turn in an Emergency Medical Form and a Medical Release Form. These forms may be printed on the Forms page of this website.

 

                           The Medical Release Form must be notarized. There will be notaries at the meeting to assist parents with this task. Parents are also asked to bring a photocopy of their medical insurance card to turn in with these forms..

                 

                   *The meeting will take place in the auditorium.
